1. How to get to Universidade Aberta If you come by plane, the best and cheapest way to get to central Lisboa is to take the AERO Bus, which runs every 20 minutes between 7 am and 9 pm. The fare is 3 euros. However if, for any reason, you wish to take a taxi, go ahead and call one: taxis are not very expensive in Portugal and the airport being located ‘in’ the city, wherever you go, it is always a short trip.
If you are coming to Universidade Aberta you will have to get off at Praça do Marquês de Pombal. There you can take the underground to Largo do Rato, the nearest underground station from Universidade Aberta. A underground tickets cost less than 2 euros.
If you arrive by train, you will get off at Santa Apolónia train station. To get to Universidade Aberta you have to take bus number 9 and get off in Largo do Rato, at walking distance from Universidade Aberta.
2. Where to go in Universidade Aberta and what to bring with you All international students must first of all contact the Office for International Affairs, located in Palácio Ceia, the university’s headquarters.
If you are an Erasmus student(s) you will have to bring along with you:

Document proving that you belong to the Erasmus programme
b)
ID card or passport
c)
Small sized photos
After all the legal procedures are completed you will receive a student card with which you have access to libraries, documentation centres, as well as reductions in the price of books, admission in museums and some shows tickets.
Unfortunately, Universidade Aberta students (national or international) are not allowed to use the canteens of public universities.
